Betty Joy Endicott

Betty Joy Endicott, age 81, Joplin, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2008 at Galena Nursing Center after an illness.
Betty was born March 24, 1927 in Joplin, Missouri to the late Reginald D. Carver and Betty Pickens Carver and had lived in the Joplin area most of her life. She was a nurse’s aide and worked as a private duty nurse for several years. She was a cook and operated a restaurant in Webb City and Utah for several years. She was a longtime member of the Church of God-7th Day Adventist.
Her husband, Homer Endicott, preceded her in death in 1983.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Wren; four sisters, Pansy Overman, Louise Busick, Verna Jordan, Marie Coe; and a brother; Art Carver.
She is survived by three granddaughters, Gava Cooley, Marlene Wren, Lisa Wren; seven great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Lowery, Carl Junction, Earline Richardson, Hubert, Oklahoma; six brothers, Bob Carver, Webb City, Houston Carver, Corpus Christi, Texas, Harold Cox, Oronogo, Fred Cox, Webb City, Truman Cox, Joplin, Ernest Dean Cox, Joplin; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Hornet Cemetery. Vernon Peterson will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
