U.S. Veteran

Cecil A. Tinin, age 75, formerly of Joplin, passed away at 3:00 a.m. Thursday March 29, 2012 at his home after an illness.

Cecil was born April 26, 1937 in Waynesboro, Tennessee to the late Homer Hubert Tinin and Myrtle Nutt Tinin and had lived in the Joplin area until moving to House Springs, Missouri in 2009.

He was a graduate of Waynesboro, Tennessee High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Cecil worked as an electronics technician and spent his free time doing what he loved most-fishing. He had a passion for fishing and was a member of several fishing clubs. He was a member of Joplin Lodge #335, AF & AM, and was the past Grand Worthy Patron of Praying Hands Court 15, Order of the Amaranth.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie, of the home; and a son, Charles Robert Tinin, North Point, Alabama; three grandchildren, Michael Tinin, Colorado, Frosten Tinin, Alabama, Stephanie Jennings and her husband, Charles; two brothers, Raymond Tinin and his wife, Linda, Leoma, Tennessee, Tom Tinin and his wife, Sammie, Robbins, Tennessee; two sisters, Ellen Newton, Florence, Alabama, Linda Rochell and her husband, David, Collinwood, Tennessee; one great grandson, Joseph Jennings; and several nephews; cousins and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lonna; and a brother-in-law, Charles Newton.

Services are planned for Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Members of Praying Hands Court 15, Order of the Amaranth and Linda Ricke will officiate. Graveside services will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the mortuary.
