Betty McDonald, age 90, Joplin, passed away at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012 at National Health Care Center.
Betty was born March 12, 1922 in Joplin, Missouri to the late Charles McDonald and Eva Robinson McDonald and had lived in the Joplin area all of her life.
She worked for S.W. Bell Telephone for 40 years, retiring as a supervisor. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Betty was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Lula Mae Waring, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by four brothers, Bob, Carl, Louis and Ray McDonald; and two sisters, Lois Nichols and Lucille Carpenter.
Betty has been taken for cremation.
A graveside committal of ashes is planned for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Joplin Humane Society.
